OnTrack is a one-time purchase you install on your own hosting - and plenty of people love it that way. But if the words "hosting", "domain" or "upload" make your eyes glaze over, this is the version for you. OnTrack Fully Managed is your own order tracking website, live at your own web address, with every technical job handled by me.

You run your business. I run the website. That's the whole arrangement.

How it works

  1. Choose a plan and subscribe. Takes about a minute - just your email and a card.
  2. Tell me about your business. I'll email you straight away to ask for your business name, the web address you'd like, your logo and the stages your work moves through. Nothing technical - just describe how a job goes from booked to done.
  3. Your tracking site goes live. Usually within 2-3 business days you get your admin login at your own domain, configured and ready for your first order.

What "fully managed" actually means

Everything below the surface is my problem: the domain registration and its yearly renewal, the hosting, the SSL padlock, backups, making sure notification emails actually reach inboxes, and keeping the whole thing online. The full list is just below under What's included. If anything ever misbehaves, you email me and it gets fixed - that's what the subscription is for.

One plan, and every update is in it

Managed ($29 a month) is everything above, and every new OnTrack release is installed for you soon after it ships - included, for as long as you are subscribed, at no extra cost. New features simply appear on your site: the priority stars, the SMTP email delivery and the progress rings all arrived that way for current subscribers. Every release goes through OnTrack's secure update system - digitally signed and checksum-verified, with an automatic backup and one-click rollback behind it - so upgrades are safe by design. I handle all of it; you just see the new features show up.

There is nothing else to choose and no upgrade to be talked into later. Managed Yearly ($249 a year) is the same thing billed once a year for less, and you can move between monthly and yearly any time from your account page - the billing sorts itself out automatically.

You still own everything

The domain is registered in your name, not mine. Your orders, customers, photos and files are yours. If you ever cancel, your site stays up until the end of what you've paid for, then I hand you your domain and a complete export of your data. Want to keep using OnTrack on your own hosting after that? The self-hosted copy is a $49 one-time purchase and I'll happily move your data onto it.

If you already have hosting and don't mind uploading a file, you may not need this plan at all. OnTrack self-hosted is a $49 one-time purchase - same software, no monthly fees, you own it forever.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly do you set up for me?
The lot: your domain name, the hosting, the SSL certificate (the padlock in the browser), OnTrack itself with your logo, business name, time zone and workflow stages, plus email notifications that reliably reach inboxes. You get an email with your admin login when it's live, along with a short plain-English guide to adding your first order.
Do I need to buy hosting or a domain separately?
No. Both are included in the monthly price. A standard domain like a .com is covered; if you have your heart set on an unusual or premium domain that costs more to register, I'll tell you the difference before anything is bought - no surprises.
Who owns the domain?
You do. It's registered in your name, and if you ever leave, it goes with you. I never hold your web address hostage - that would make me exactly the kind of tech guy this service exists to protect you from.
How long until my site is live?
Usually 2-3 business days from when you answer my setup email. Domain registration is quick; most of the time goes into setting up your stages and branding properly so it's genuinely ready for customers on day one.
I already own a domain - can I use it?
Yes. I'll connect OnTrack to your existing domain (or a subdomain like track.yourbusiness.com) and the price stays the same. Your domain stays wherever it's currently registered.
I already bought OnTrack - can you host my copy?
Absolutely, and this is a popular way in. I'll move your existing orders, customers, photos and settings onto managed hosting so nothing is lost. Same plan, same price.
Can I switch plans or pay yearly?
Yes to both. Plan changes are self-service from your account page and billing is adjusted automatically. Yearly plans are the same service billed once a year, and they work out cheaper than paying monthly.
How does billing work?
It's a normal subscription through Stripe (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay) or PayPal - you choose at checkout. Receipts arrive by email, you get a reminder before each renewal, and you can update your card, switch plans or cancel anytime from your account page. No invoices to remember, no contracts to sign.
What happens if I cancel?
Your site stays online until the end of the period you've already paid for. After that I send you a complete export of your data and transfer the domain to wherever you like. If you want to keep using OnTrack on your own hosting, the self-hosted copy is a $49 one-time purchase and I'll move your data onto it for you.
Is my customers' data private and safe?
Yes. Only you have the admin password, each customer gets a private tracking link that shows just their own order, everything runs over SSL, and automatic backups run so a bad day at the data centre can't take your order history with it.
What if something breaks?
Then it's my problem, not yours - that's the deal. Email me and I'll sort it. The hosting is monitored, so most of the time I've spotted an issue before the first customer does.
Is there a contract or lock-in?
No. Monthly plans roll month to month and you can cancel in two clicks from your account page. The yearly plans just trade flexibility for a lower price - they're never required.
